We’re All Mad In Our Own Way

Alice in wonderland exhibition

So today I went to the Alice in Wonderland exhibition with my gorgeous friend Bec!
I’ve never actually been to the British Library despite walking past it and going under it on the tube probably way into the high hundreds of times possibly even past a thousand in the last couple of years!
On the way in random people get spot searched in their bags! Luckily I looked safe however Bec did not! But the security guard was super nice - I think because Bec kind of had everything ready to be check and had a super neat bag! He also gave us a little hint that despite there being a huge tag in the centre of the hall, we should go up the stairs on the right hand side to make sure we start from the very beginning, a very good place to start!

It was a lovely little time line of original books, manuscripts and facts about the development of illustrations and depictions of characters! It was so amazing to see the different inspirations for the characters depending on the era in which they were drawn!
Of course we most enjoyed the small Disney section, as naturally were both huge Disney fans, which is why we’re friends!

At the end there’s some cool mirrors with prints to have some selfies in as no cameras are allowed in the exhibition!
There was also a lovely little pop-up shop which was just so cute! There was everything from books to teacups, to your own little ‘drink me’ potion, all of which can also be ordered online: (http://shop.bl.uk/mall/departmentpage.cfm/BritishLibrary/_530366/1/Alice-in-Wonderland?ns_campaign=online_shop&ns_mchannel=bl_website&ns_source=blogs&ns_linkname=alice%20range&ns_fee=0) Bec and I both decided to get a little Oyster card holder, to me it made sense to have something small just to hold my little rewards cards and things! As a little memoir, but also as a souvenir!

We were done much earlier than we thought though so we decided to take my first trip to Harrods! We visited the Disney store and checked out their new the Good Dinosaur range as well as having a great chat with one of the workers there about all things Disney!
We also found Belle! Isn’t she divine?!

After seeing the Disney café too we decided that next time we meet that will have to be on the agenda! Fitting as the last time we met properly we went to visit the Cinderella exhibition hosted by Swarovski!
